With the new adidas Originals Golf collection, the iconic Trefoil logo is well and truly back to the golf course. But it’s not just about a feeling, adidas is really focusing on the little details that make a piece stand out like flat knit ribbing, jacquard patterns and sewn-on stripes. In doing so, the brand wants the player of the next generation to feel like they can express their own style on the golf course.

“As we examined our roots in the game, we were inspired by the ways we pushed fashion on the course in the 70s and 80s and felt the time was right to reintroduce styles for golfers that are influenced by the fashion and culture of today,” said Dylan Moore, the senior creative director at adidas Golf.

Shaun Madigan, who’s the global apparel director at adidas Golf, described using the Originals range as a “muse…with the ultimate goal of building out a premium assortment of apparel that represents the convergence of fashion and culture that we are seeing in the game.” This a key point of emphasis, that the exploration of a new wave of style doesn’t come at the expense of functionality. In fact, adidas athlete Ludvig Aberg will be sporting a few items from the range at the Masters executed in a blue, white, green and yellow color palette.

Key highlights from the men’s range include the Knit Polo with its jacquard knit argyle pattern, the mercerized cotton Originals Archive Pocket Polo and the Originals Archive Plaid Pant with its classy center fold press. On the women’s side, the Originals Pleated Skort stands out given its contrast tipping at the waist and concealed zipper. Across unisex footwear the brand new COURSECUP is inspired by the heritage GOLD CUP model from 1986, and the Gazelle has been converted into a golf shoe for the first time with a suede upper and spikeless outsole.

The full lineup will be available on adidas and select golf retailers beginning April 3.
